Joshua Haines

Joshua Haines grew up in southern California and started acting as a child in commercials, tv shows, and movies which led him to dance. He started dancing at the age of 10 and studied at Ballet Repertoire Theater and Alonzo King LINES Ballet. He performed with Joffrey Ballet and American Ballet Theater. He has been a company member of Inland Pacific Ballet, Zhukov Dance Theater, and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (IL).

He then moved to Europe and performed projects with Anna Huber (CH), and was part of the Bodhi Dance Project at SEAD (AT) where he performed works by Robert Clark (UK), Josef Frucek (CZ), Martin Nachbar (DE), Anton Latchky (SK).

From 2014 - 2023 Joshua worked with Gregor Zöllig in Theater Bielefeld and Staatstheater Braunschweig.

Joshua has been making his own work since 2010 and has had the opportunity to show it in the US, Israel, Austria, and Germany. He teaches contemporary training ranging from amateurs to professionals also including training for the dancers of Staatstheater Braunschweig and Nordharzer Städtebund Theater Halberstadt. His class is influenced by Release Technique, Gyrokinesis, Floorwork, Improvisation, Contact Improv, and Vocal Training. In 2023 Joshua and Alina Jaggi founded u.p. - unknown.possiblities. together.
